Note: The Torre e Tasso family title descended from the Czech branch of the princely house of Thurn and Taxis, a German dynastic family known for their activity in the postal services in 16th century Europe. Prince Alexandro of Thurn and Taxis (1181-1937) relocated to Italy in 1923 and was given the titles "1st Duke of Castel Dunino" and "Prince della Torre e Tasso" by Victor Emmanuel III of Italy. In 1906, he married Princess Marie de Linge (Château de Beloeil, Belgium) and they had three children together before divorcing in 1919. Their children took the title of "Prince(ss) della Torre a Tasso". Castel Dunino remains part of the Torre e Tasso family’s estate.
