A PAIR OF BURMESE STYLE PARCEL GILT POLYCHROME GLASS INLAID CARVED TEAK WOOD ROYAL COURT DANCER FIGURES, MYANMAR, EARLY 20TH CENTURY, the matching figures have curled bun hairdos over gilt relief scrolled headwraps above green floral painted shirts with gold sash adornments, over a red and green cloud painted longyi, each holding an end of a red and gilt painted glass inlaid pole, on an integral circular plinth base. Height: 39" Width: 16"
Condition
Some chips, fading, craquelure, and cracks to the paint throughout; approximately three areas where large losses of wood have resulted in cavernous areas, at head, foot and back, some later application of paint in some areas, but otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
