The collected poetry of Samuel Wesley the Younger (1690-1739), who, like his father, was a clergyman in the Church of England and a poet. The Younger was close to the circles of Pope and Swift. Poems on Several Occasions includes Wesley's pindarics, Miltonic imitations, translations, and his playful satires on the events of the day, including poems on Curll, Dunton, members of Parliament, and other poets. NCBEL II, 574; Foxon, page 885.
As a student at Westminster School, Wesley wrote an amusing verse satire of Edmund Curll being tossed in a blanket, Neck or Nothing . . . (1716, Foxon W-343).
