Description
East Asia, China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 1644 to 1912 CE, probably later in the period. A large piece of gorgeous blue lapis lazuli carved into the form of a seated bull. The lapis is gorgeous, with blue hues ranging from midnight to almost lavender; gold-colored pyrite flecks swirl over the surface, especially across the broad back, and bands of pale grey and white calcite provide further color. Comes with a custom-shaped wooden stand. Size: 8.45" W x 2.95" H (21.5 cm x 7.5 cm); 4.7" H (11.9 cm) on included custom stand.
