COLLECTION OF 11 PRE-COLUMBIAN POTTERY ARTIFACTS - Includes three plainware open bowls (9” - 9 3/8” diameters); a low-fire “boot” cup (has a chip on rim and loss to bottom) 4 1/2” H; a polished brown ware Teotihuacan bowl 3 1/4” H x 6” diameter (chip on rim); an orang-slipped “vase” with appliqué 3 1/2” H (45% of rim has loss); a large Mesoamerican polychrome support 6” H x 6” W; a dish w/ sun imagery and 4-supports (loss to 25% of vessel 5 1/4” diameter; 2 small figurine fragments; and a tripod human effigy vessel (black pitch repairs and loss to 30% of vessel, needs restoration) 5 1/2” H. Condition: These are ancient items and with show wear consistent with age and use in antiquity. Individual flaws listed next to item above. Please also refer to pictures for detail. Provenance: Items in this lot are from the estate of South Florida collector J. J. Schmidt Jr. Each of these items were acquired before 1970.
