Description
Late 1st millennium BC-early 1st millennium AD. A redware ceramic kendi with a broad shoulder, narrow foot, wide mouth with flange and a straight spout with a flange. Cf. Higham, Charles Early Cultures of Mainland Southeast Asia, p.238; accompanied by copies of the relevant book pages. 1.75 kg, 23cm (9"). From an important South London private collection; acquired in the early 1990s; accompanied by a copy of an Oxford Authentication Thermoluminescence analysis report for a vessel found alongside this one, reference number N103f80, dated 19 March 2003.
