Description
Dated 1901 and 1917 AD. A large and sturdy British three-draw brass and leather artillery spotting telescope by Negretti & Zambra of London, serial number 999, dated 1901, in original leather tubular case with straps; with a slightly later but matching wood and brass tripod by Thos Armstrong & Bro, serial number 1628, dated 1917, in a similar leather tubular case with straps, marked to end cap 'CASE STAND F ATEL MARK II / H G & R LTD / 1917' in three lines with broad arrow mark below. 9.0kg total, 59cm and 89cm in cases (23 and 35"). Property of a Guernsey collector; acquired in the UK in the early 1990s. [2]
