In this original 7" x 8" legal document, the General Sessions of Court at Bristol have indicted the entire Town of Westport, Massachusetts as, "two companies of Militia did neglect to be provided with 100 pounds of good gunpowder, 100 musket balls, 100 flints and three iron camp kettles..." It is Signed by Seth Padelford, as attorney for the Court and Ebenezer Perkins as foreman of the jury. No doubt, the town was reluctant to have it's Militia take up arms against the local protesters, being against the newly required Revenue Taxes.
