This lot consists of a gorgeous hand-painted watercolor, mounted on matte paper and signed "Marc Chagall". Image depicts a quaint provincial scene, with a goat, a chicken, and a nearby peasant woman. Colors and lines shroud the animals with life and a decidedly fantastical air. Tones of rose, lavender, and ivy green fill out the space nicely. Done in the expressive Modernist style of Marc Chagall (Russian-French, 1887-1985). Piece measures approximately 15" x 17.5".
