Description
A gilt bronze Buddha dating from the 18th century. The Buddha is seated on a double lotus pedestal in the Amitabha or meditation mudra and has a round mandorla behind him.
Dimensions are: 8 1/2 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There is wear to the gilt and some possible areas of repair at the base.
Provenance: From the estate of Jerry Lee Musslewhite who traveled extensively in Asia while working for the State Department in the 1950s and 1960s. Over one hundred of his items were auctioned off at Christie's in New York City in 2010 and 2011.
