Description
EARLY AMERICAN EPEE / RAPIER, having a triangular blade with gilt-decorated engraving, including stands of arms and banners, gilt brass shell-form guard with Federal-style eagle, gilt brass knuckle-bow, gilt brass pommel with bee decoration, gilt brass grip with exposed wood body, lacking original leather or similar grip to cover the wood; unmarked. Late 18th/early 19th century. 30 3/8" L blade, 35 7/8" LOA.
