Item Details

Description

In highly figured mahogany case with stepped ogee crest with original tin box pully caps, over two doors, upper o which has original mirrored tablet and lower with original polychrome painted country estate scene, upper flanked by tapered hollow columns with turned capitals and plinths, through which the weights descend, lower door flanked by ogee plinths, original cleaned varnish finish. Painted tin dial with Roman numerals and painted blue roses in spandrels, open escapement. Brass weight driven time & strike movement with original weights, pendulum and key. Interior with printed paper label reading in part H. Welton & Co./Successors o Eli Terry & Co./Terryville, Conn., old jewelers repair label on reverse, 19 x 6 x 28 1/4" high. Some paint loss to lower tablet, else Fine.
