Fletcher Benton (American, b. 1931), Untitled, 2004, steel sculpture, signed and dated lower front, overall: 38"h x 10"w x 7.5"d. Provenance: Collection of Peter Selz (Berkeley, California). Mr. Selz taught at the University of California, Berkeley, from 1965-1988 where he concurrently served as founder and director of the university art museum from 1965-1973. Before joining UC Berkeley, Selz served as Curator of Painting and Sculpture at the Museum of Modern Art, New York from 1958-1965.
