Description
Yeats (Elizabeth Corbet, printer, 1868-1940) Autograph Letter signed to Ignatius Mac Hugh, 4pp. & envelope, 8vo, Cuala Industries, Ltd., Dundrum, Co. Dublin, 18th October 1921, bemoaning the effect of the Irish Civil War on the Cuala Press, "Yes, I believe Ireland will do great things if only we can all hold on till the settlement is made - but you have no idea what it means to run a little industry like this through all these bad times - & you can do a little bit for us & for Ireland if you tell people about Cuala work - we have held on... & not parted with a single worker but can not hold on much longer if things do not improve - we have not been able to hold sales of Cuala work at all... we used to get in good sums by sales held at different places... all that has been stopped... . Now at any rate we have peace - & no crown forces... about harassing the people - & ... in no danger of being shot... is a relief", folds.
