Description
**First Time At Auction**
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 4th century CE. A lovely trio of miniature drop-form glass tokens used in a variety of games and contests amongst the Roman populace. One token, made of clear and near-transparent glass, has miniscule areas of reflective surface pitting and lovely sections of fiery rainbow-hued iridescence. Second is a lime-green token, with similar reflective pitting grooves, and brilliant rainbow iridescence which is visible mostly along the underside. The largest token is composed from cobalt blue glass, the bottom displaying gorgeous areas of violet- and emerald-hued iridescence. A wonderful ensemble! Size of largest (blue): 0.5" W (1.3 cm).
