Description
Magna Graecia, Southern Italy, Apulia, ca. early 4th century BCE. A pretty oinochoe (pouring vessel) with a trefoil lip and a delicate arched handle bridging rim to shoulder. Its piriform body stands on a ringed foot and is almost entirely covered with black glaze that has attained a shimmery iridescence. The body has a gently ribbed appearance that contributes to its elegant form. Size: 4.7" W x 7.45" H (11.9 cm x 18.9 cm)

Condition
Rim has been repaired in two places. Small losses to pigment, mainly on the handle and rim. Light encrustation in lower profile areas. Nice silvery patina.
