Description
Circa 1928, by LuDuble, sand glazed pottery sculpture of a family of three, marked on the bottom. Height 15 1/2 inches. Note: The Arko studio was established by Alexander Archipenko in 1928 near Woodstock, New York, depicts a highly-stylized grouping of father, mother and son sand-colored glaze. Archipenko clearly considered this piece to be important, because it headlined his article on “The Ageless Art of Ceramics†published in the August, 1928 issue of “Charm, The Magazine of New Jersey Home Interests,†published by an arm of the Bamberger department store.
