A PAIR OF BAROQUE REVIVAL OAK THRONE SIZE ARMCHAIRS, CONTINENTAL, MID/LATE 19TH CENTURY, the reticulated, relief carved crest with rampant eagle clutching a bough in his beak, which issues flower blooms and fruit, flanked by foliate crown finials, on block and florets over swirling leafy columnar supports, centering a pierced back splat with a flowering and fruiting basket, flanked by griffins, over trapezoidal seats, within leafy carved, upholstered arms, ending in bird and scrolled leafy hand terminals, raised on relief flower, fruit and eagle form legs, joined by a pierced fruiting basket motif front stretcher, and baluster, ring turned box stretchers, now upholstered in hide and brown toned passementerie fringe. There are some cracks at splats, mild losses of carving, some glue residue and apparent repairs, dutst debris, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
