after MICHEL CLAUDE CLODION (French 1738-1814) A PAIR OF LOUIS XV/XVI STYLE BACCHANALIAN THEME GILT BRASS AND PATINATED BRONZE TWO-LIGHT CANDELABRA, LATE 19TH/EARLY 20TH CENTURY, PROBABLY FRANCE, the everted rim leaf and berry encrusted tapered candle cups over leafy bobêches on swirling leaf and berry form arms held by an "Enfant de Bacchus" and "Jeune Faune au Hibou," on tree stump bases, raised on mottled black granite pillars, terminating in circular bead decorated socles, over cross form stepped plinths. Height: 25 1/4" Diameter: 10 1/2"
Condition
Two arms are slightly loosened; there are some surface scratches mostly to the candle cups and near the bases, and some intermittent patina spots near the crevices, otherwise in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
