Title: Black basalt teapot Origin: English Date/Period: : Pre 1837 VR item #367416 Materials: Pottery
An English black basalt teapot in the style of Wedgwood, c 1800, with a reeded pattern and Sybil or Widow finial. The tip of the spout with a silver replacement. Height: 51/4”/ 13 cm, width: 8”/ 20 cm. Condition: the light edge around the widow knob tells us that the small sculpture has been restuck. Two hairlines to the spout and an almost invisible repair to the rim of the lid (cf photos). The silver plated strainer visible on the photos will be the buyer’s bonus
