Description
Roman, Imperial period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. Five cabochon intaglios, one garnet, one amethyst, and three carnelian. Each has a small scene: a bull, a harpy, an eagle, a profile view of a soldier, and a bird. Each of these would have been set into a beautiful ornament worn by an ancient Roman. Size of largest: 0.4" W x 0.5" H (1 cm x 1.3 cm)
