DAVIS, GOVERNOR OF TEXAS, SEPTEMBER 18, 1872, the printed document appointing Alex Wright as a Member of the Board of Appeal for Hunt County, Texas, countersigned by James P. Newcomb as Secretary of State, with embossed gold seal of the State of Texas, on the reverse a notation "Com. returned, Alex Wright, Bd of Appeal, Hunt Co, left the State, Filed Oct. 18. 1872". Height: 10" Width: 16"

Overall toning of paper stock and fading of ink, folded, with two areas of loss of paper along crease, imprint of seal from fold.
