Revolutionary War ADS Granting Bounty 1777
Autograph Document Signed, “J. Roorbach”, as Justice of the Peace, 1 p., July 10, 1777, Van Ness County, 8.5“ x 3.75“. Docket to verso, folds, scattered spots of foxing and toning, else Very Good.
Just one year after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, this document grants a bounty as allowed by the Convention to Lieutenant Jonathan Hough[?] for mustering 24 men into the Van Ness Company at Albany, New York.
