North America, Mexico, ca. mid 20th century CE. A pair of vintage Mexican Taxco silver items. First is a sterling silver necklace with a lengthy chain-linked cord and a circular medallion with inlaid turquoise and beige-hued stones with a central Aztec-style warrior; it also has a functioning pin on the reverse in case the wearer wishes to not use the chain. Second is a small sterling silver lidded jewelry box with inlaid turquoise stones around a multi-lobed cactus; given the minute ovoid design, this container would be used to hold smaller accessories like rings or earrings. A lovely duo of sterling silver pieces! Size of necklace: 13.75" L (34.9 cm); size of medallion: 1.75" L (4.4 cm); size of jewelry box: 1.75" L (4.4 cm); sterling silver quality: 92.5% or higher.
