A lovely Roman mosaic tile fragment, 2nd Century AD, with part of a geometric design in natural tones ranging from yellow to black. The fragment, probably from a villa floor, retains much of the original cement on back and is housed with an attractive antique glass and wood stepped display case with engraved plaque. Mosaic itself: 14 x 6 3/4 in (35.5 x 17.2 cm). Display case measures: 20 1/8 x 6 1/8 x 9 3/4 in (53.6 x 15.6 x 24.8 cm). Ex Northern California private collection.
