The Botanical Magazine, or Flower-Garden Displayed
London: W. Curtis et al., 1787-1815, demy quarto, forty-two volumes (in 34) plus index, containing 1,770 numbered, hand-colored floral plates by James Sowerby, Sydenham Edwards and F. Sansom et al, demy quarto, in full tan calf, the flat spines with black title and red oval volume panels with gilt lettering and rule, with armorial bookplate of William Henry Irby, together with three volumes of the second series - volumes 43 (1816), 51 (1824) and 53 (1826), containing (in total) another 299 plates, in brown quarter calf on marbled boards, the flat spines with gilt lettering and rule.

In generally good condition. Some plates with scattered foxing and areas of faint discoloration. Overall faint toning of paper.
