Description
This is fascinating map showing the mostly river and lake based route taken by the Royal Navy's G Back and naturalist R King seeking a land/river based route through the Arctic Barren Lands. They were also searching for the 1829 Ross expedition which was seeking the northwest passage. The Back expedition traveled from New York to the Great Slave Lake, creating new geographical discoveries and of course learning more about local wildlife to aurora boralis.
