1815 Charleston Lafar Fisher Slave Hire copper alloy badge, Number 125. Octagonal shaped having four very long sides and four extremely short sides with a hole at the top for suspension. Front marked "CHARLESTON" in a lunate punch at the top, "No." in a square punch, and "125" in individual number punches, "FISHER" in a rectangular punch, and 1815" in a rectangular punch at the bottom. Hallmarked "LAFAR" in a rectangular punch on the back. 44 mm x 45 mm (1.73" x 1.77"). Provenance: Ray Davenport. Estate of Jim Maconkey, Landrum, SC.
