Description
**First Time At Auction**
Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Jalisco, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built female pottery figure standing atop arched feet and stocky legs. The figure wears a knee-length skirt decorated with white-painted linear and stippled motifs, holds a small bowl in her right hand, and supports a jar on her left shoulder. Her red-slipped body is displays further white-painted decorations including a beaded necklace, finger delineations, arm bands, and the geometric motifs which adorn her ear spools and head band. A prominent nose, smiling mouth, ovoid eyes, pointed ears, and an elongated forehead comprise her serene visage. Custom museum-quality display stand included. Size: 3.625" W x 7.5" H (9.2 cm x 19 cm); 8.1" H (20.6 cm) on included custom stand.

Condition
Repaired from multiple pieces with small chips and losses as well as light adhesive residue along break lines. Losses to part of bowl and one hand, fading to original pigmentation, minor abrasions, and light encrustations. Light earthen deposits throughout. Old inventory label on verso.
