Description
An Egyptian beaded necklace and accompanying beaded strands, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, the larger strand comprised of light blue faience tubular beads interspersed with Roman colorless glass beads, and the smaller strands also with tubular beads, disc bead and petals as well as a few antique light blue glass beads. Largest strand is 30 in (76 cm). Ex estate of Maria (Lila) Decatur Mayo Deyo Garnett, niece of Ruth Deyo; Ex collection of Ruth Deyo, acquired early-mid 1900's. Mrs. Deyo was a world-renowned musician and personality, well-known for her appreciation of Egyptian culture.
