Description
A Sabean alabaster votive fragment with inscription, Arabia, 4th-5th Century AD, roughly rectangular with wall depression at top containing remnants of cement, indicating it was part of a larger composition or surmounted by a small piece of sculpture. The front face is flat with carved inscription in large well-formed letters. 5 1/2 x 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 in (13.3 x 5.7 x 5.7 cm). Ex New York private collection.
