A beautiful Hellenistic ceramic olpe of unique form, c. 3rd - 1st Century BC, in imitation of metal ware, with squat body and twisted loops around the shoulder, the handle quite decorative with thumb rest. H: 6 3/5 in (16.7cm). Well-preserved light orange-creme colored slip with light deposits. Ex collection of John Hibner, acquired in Turkey during military service in the 1960's.
