Description
**First Time At Auction**
East Asia, China, Warring States Period, ca. 475 to 221 BCE. A large wheel-thrown pottery storage jar with a flat base, rounded walls with an angled shoulder, a deep interior cavity, and a collared rim fit to hold a lid. The exterior of the body is covered with an impressed lattice pattern which creates a rough texture for gripping in the absence of handles. A fine example of ancient utilitarian pottery vessels! Size: 9.65" W x 8.9" H (24.5 cm x 22.6 cm)
This piece has been tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase.

Condition
Surface wear and abrasions commensurate with age, notably a chip from the rim. Otherwise intact and in nice condition with earthen deposits in the lower profile areas and encrustation on the interior.
