LeRoy Neiman (AMERICAN / NEW YORK / ILLINOIS / MINNESOTA, 1921 - 2012) original one-of-a-kind conte crayon and pastel mixed media work from his "A la Playboy" series depicting the portrait of Rhonda Koch a dancer and ex-Raiderette. She was mentioned in the Grapevine section of the May, 1993 Playboy Magazine issue page 174 with the title "Help Me, Rhonda" with a short biography and illustration of her. The Magazine will be included with the artwork. Titled "Help me Rhonda" to lower left. Dated 1995 in pencil to lower right and further pencil signed "LeRoy Neiman a la Playboy". Mounted in a white lacquer veneer wooden frame with fabric mat; the wooden mounting of the painting has further painting accenting the work; all set behind glass. Work measures approx. 23 1/2" height x 19 1/2" width (59.7cm x 49.5cm) to sight. Measures approx. 37 1/4" height x 32 3/4" width (94.6cm x 83.2cm) overall including frame. Provenance: acquired from a South Florida estate, the owner of the estate being a personal friend of Mr. Nieman. The lore of this painting is that after the Tyson & Holyfield "Ear Bite Fight" in 1997, Mr. Neirman did this work for as a personal request, Rhonda Koch being the estate owner's girlfriend at the time.
