A FASCINATING OLD WOOD SCULPTURE FROM THE YORUBA PEOPLES OF NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA.Carved from a single piece of wood with an undeniably well handled and weathered surface, featuring the image of a kneeling female devotee. The female has strong traditional facial features and is shown holding a burden or vessel over her head. This sculpture was likely dedicated to the Yoruba God "Eshu" The Trickster god.
