Elvis Presley's President Nixon Re-Election Bumper Stickers From the Estate of Dr. Elias Ghanem W/LOA - These President Nixon re-election bumper stickers were owned by Elvis Presley and were left at the home of Dr. Elias Ghanem. Elvis first met President Nixon on December 21, 1970 after traveling to Washington in hopes of meeting the President and acquiring a badge from the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs. Elvis wrote a letter to the President detailing why he thought he was a perfect person to help fight the war on illegal drugs, and eventually a meeting was arranged by Nixon aide Bud Krogh, who happened to be an Elvis fan. Elvis met Nixon had a meeting in the oval office, and was eventually granted an honorary badge from the bureau. These bumper stickers were presumably acquired by Elvis in 1972. The stickers were acquired from the estate of Dr. Elias Ghanem, who was Elvis' trusted Las Vegas physician. These stickers were found along with Elvis' books and were one of many items Elvis left at Dr. Ghanem's home in the 1970s, as he would often stay at the home inside the Las Vegas Country Club which was located directly behind The International Hotel (later the Las Vegas Hilton). Elvis had a record 837 consecutive performances at The International from 1969 to 1976, and often stayed in Dr. Ghanem's guest bedroom. The piece will be accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Dr. Ghanem's wife Jody, along with a notarized master copy of the pieces sold by Mrs. Ghanem in 2016.
