Charles Courtry (Paris, 1846 - 1897) Framed etching, signed in pencil in lower right as shown. Professionally framed measuring approx. 22" x 18" including the frame as shown. Image size is approx. 7" x 9". Condition is good, as shown, see photos. French nineteenth century artist, Charles Courtry studied etching techniques in Paris under Flameng and Gaucherel. His first large etching, Le Marche d'esclaves (after Gerome) was exhibited in Paris in 1868. From that date he was a frequent exhibitor and received medals from the Paris Salon in 1874, 1875, 1887 and 1889. In 1881 Charles Courtry was decorated with the Legion d'honneur.
