Native American, Southwest, New Mexico, Cochiti Pueblo, signed by potter Grace Suina, ca. 20th century CE. A lovely polychrome storyteller with four children - two standing on each end and holding the storyteller's arms and two sitting on her lap. The storyteller has her mouth open as is customary, based on the traditional singing mother motif, as the four children listen. The piece is signed on the bottom "Grace Suina Cochiti Pueblo." Grace Suina is the daughter of Ada Suina (1930-) a respected potter of storyteller figurines and nacimientos, one of the premier potters at Cochiti. Size: 4" W x 4.75" H (10.2 cm x 12.1 cm)
