Condition
Hard boards, original publisher's cloth [some wear: see pictures]; 4.1/2" x 7.1/2"; 284 + 290 pages; frontispiece and additional engraved pages to each volume; upper part of the first frontispiece is missing [see picture]; front and back endpapers are missing; pencil writing 'George T. Hudson[?] joined Wesley Church Sunday May 1–81' on the first blank page; the names are pencil written on the back of the first frontispiece. [Note: One of them, Miss Lucy Agnes Archer [of Petersburg, VA] married W.K.L. Dickson, 35mm film inventor, in 1883.] George Schank is pen-written on the back of the first engraved title page, the same name and '1848' on the back of the second frontispiece and inside back cover. Some soiling and aging, good condition.
