The hemispherical bowl forged of a single piece of steel, suggesting Bhutanese workmanship. The mounts, consisting of a plumeholder and brim, are of silver, finely embossed and chased in characteristic lotus and scrolling vine motifs. The helmet further retains its complete lining, composed of a thickly-padded interior cap together with its rawhide ties, and long, profiled cheek- and neck-flaps, with substantial remains of deep red silk covering enriched with silver embroidery The helmet further retains a broad ring composed of woven fabric panels which encircles the bowl.
