Description
Charming Limoges style Pilgrim Flask with spider decoration on one side and bats on the other, done at Rookwood in 1882 by Maria Longworth Nichols. The creatures are seen among clouds and grasses with enhancements of fired on gold at top and bottom. Marks include Rookwood in block letters, the date and the stacked initials of Mrs. Nichols in black slip. Height 6 3/4 inches. There is a tiny (1/8 inch) spot of roughness at the rim and faint crazing.
