Description
Early Standard glaze jardiniere with seaweed and 3 nicely detailed crabs painted in 1884 by Matthew A. Daly. Marks include Rookwood in block letters, the date, shape number 181, S for sage green clay and Mr. Daly’s initials in black slip. Height is 5 7/8 inches and width is 8 1/2 inches. There is faint crazing and a drill hole, low to the side, for electrification. An older oil font with electric sockets and cord is available with the jard.
