1822 Philippic Histories Justin Ancient ROME Macedonian Empire Trogus Delphini
Justin was a roman historian about whom little is known. His fame lies with this one work, ‘Historiae Philippicae’ an abridgement of the lost Historiae Philippicae et Totius Mundi Origines et Terrae Situs. He edited the ‘Histories’ and compressed the enormous 44-volume work into a manageable tome with an added preface which explained that he attempted to collect the most important and interesting parts of Trogus’s ‘Histories.’
This edition is the collected works of Justinus from the series ‘Scriptores latini in usum Delphini’.

Grenville served as Chancellor of the University of Oxford from 1810 until his death in 1834.
