A rare edition of Lucretius’s only work ‘Nature of Things.’ It was one of the best attempts at explaining Epicurean philosophy and physics using metaphors and anecdotes. Lucretius explores metaphysical ideas focusing superstitions, supernatural, and afterlife through the lens of the lack of a god (be it Roman or Christian) in a world filled with unexplainable phenomena.
This edition of Statius was edited by Gilbert Wakefield and is from the series ‘Scriptores latini in usum Delphini.’
