Colonial Connecticut ACT Issued One Week Post April 19, 1775 and the "Shot Heard Round the World" Regarding Debt
April 26, 1775-Dated Revolutionary War Period, "An Act to exempt, for a limited Time, the Persons of Debtors, from being imprisoned for Debt.", printed by Timothy Green, New London, Connecticut, Very Fine.
Rare original Imprint with the British Colonial use of the Royal Arms at top Masthead, issued under the name "Our Sovereign Lord GEORGE the Third, King of GREAT-BRITAIN, & etc.". An original early American Revolutionary War Printing of "Acts and Laws," measuring 6.25" x 11", 2 pages (front and back), New London, Connecticut. Disbound, minor expected marginal light tone. This Law passed by "the General Court or Assembly of His Majesty's English Colony of Connecticut..." and deals with the issue of debtors and the practice of imprisonment for debt. Printed by TIMOTHY GREEN of New London, with his imprint on the last page. The first we have offered, and printed exactly One Week after the historic events at Lexington & Concord, and the "Shot Heard Round the World" starting the American Revolutionary War.
