Fr. NC-164. This distinctive "U.S. Flag with 13 Stripes and Union Jack" vignette type $7-1/2 is highly sought after by collectors primarily for its Flag design. The PMG holder states repaired with pieces added, (as thin outer edge pieces have been added into the top and bottom to even the outer margins). Some typical period endorsements on the blank reverse. A nicely margined and well centered example with all designs clear and attractive as noted as "Choice" VF-35 by PMG. The Stack's Ford/Boyd Sale XV, October 2006 had two examples offered as lots 8432 graded raw VF to EF selling for $2,185 and lot 8433 was also graded raw VF to EF which sold for $1,725 about a decade and a half ago. Our currently offered note being of similar quality.
