Two French Belle Epoque Cased Silver Serving Sets
Paris, fourth quarter 19th century, no maker's marks, including a four-piece hors d'oeuvres set, retailed by Maison Majorelle, Nancy, including a pate knife, serving fork, serving spoon and pierced spoon, each with first standard (.950) silver handle decorated with neoclssical motifs (torch, quiver, laurel etc.) and fitted with a silverplate blade/bowl decorated with rococo engraving, presented in a fitted cream satin- and grey velvet-lined blue leather case, the interior lid with retailer's stamp of Majorelle, Nancy, 1-1/2" x 9-1/8" x 6-1/4", and a pastry spade with similar silver handle and gilt-copper blade pierced and engraved with flowers, presented in a case covered in brown "spiderweb" embossed paper opening to a cream floral embossed silk and velvet case with retailer's stamp of Louis Pottier, Saint-Servan.

Condition
Hors d'Oeuvres Set: In very good condition with no issues noted. Case has some light wear and a 1" tear on the interior and some scuffs on the exterior.
Serving Spade: some bleeding to the copper aroundt he sharp edges of the boss, and some mellowing of the gilt on the blade. Handle is tight and secure, with a few small bumps from age and use. Case has some minor scuffs and tears, and some small losses have been colored with green ink which has not faded like the paper. The interior is generally good, with some dark oxidation around the perimeter of the fitted slot, and two 1" tears to the lid liding silk.
