Description
3rd millennium BC. A tall ceramic bowl with rounded base, painted polychrome frieze with zebu and lion with geometric panels in between; the body slightly squashed during the manufacturing process. 160 grams, 70mm (2 3/4"). From the property of a London gentleman; previously in the private collection of the late David Gold, formed 1970s. 'David Gold amassed a sizable collection of Indus Valley pottery, both vessels and figurative during his retirement, a plaque to David and his brother was recently unveiled by Westminster Council above 43 Carnaby Street, commemorating their business that made Carnaby Street synonymous with fashion in the 1960s.'
