LACQUER TEMPLE BUDDHA, C. 1900 H 62", W 39", L 39" :The Temple Buddha has a gilt patina and rest on a base with Lotus leaf motif and is surrounded by a flame halo.
There are 4 separate pieces that comprise the entire sculpture.
They include:
The Buddha sitting in the lotus position With a height of 35", Width of 26" and a depth of approx. 22".
The bottom base which is octagon in shape and tapers upward in two tiers, the lower tier having a lotus leaf motif.
The top part of the base which is encircled by two tiers of lotus leaves.
And the flame halo. The total height of the piece is 62", the width 39" and depth 39".

At the hem front, of the Buddha's robe, there is an old age crack that extends approx. 18" in length. The top part of the base, that Buddha sits on , has a 1" x 1" chip to one Lotus leaf at the back of the base. At the front of the base 2 Lotus leaves each have an approx. 4" long age crack.
All 4 pieces have some wear to the gilding and a few very minor nicks to the edges caused by age and use. Rarely do we get a Temple Buddha of this size and stature. This is a great piece. TW 7-27-19
