Demetre (Dimitri) Haralamb Chiparus (Romanian, 1886-1947) Art Deco "Egyptian Dancer" bronze sculpture, depicting standing female nude with raised arms, richly ornamented with headdress, scarab belt, and jewelry. Marble base inset with bas-relief plaque depicting musician playing lyre and other Egyptian motifs. Signed on top of base and on bronze plaque "D.H. Chiparus," inscribed on side of base "Etling Paris." Figure with traces of original paint. Overall: 28.675" H; figure: 22.675" H x 10.5" W; base: 6" H x 6" square. Minor chips to marble base.
